| Berlin Natural Bakery was established in 1986 and is located in Berlin, Ohio, in the heart of Amish Country. Berlin Natural Bakery originally produced breads made from both wheat and spelt. Over the years, they found the spelt grain to be so superior to wheat, that they discontinued their wheat line altogether. Their bakery is 100% wheat free. This proved to be beneficial in two ways. It completely eliminated any chance of cross contamination with wheat, and allowed them to focus their energy on the research and development of additional spelt products. Their product line lincludes several varieties of spelt breads, hamburger and hot dog buns, rolls, breadsticks, crackers and cookies! For more information on all the health benefits of spelt, visit their webiste at www.berlinnaturalbakery.com.

Nature's Acres, located in Berlin, Ohio, produces pastured eggs on their family farm. Their hens roam in pastures and enjoy green grass, fresh air and sunshine. "Pastured" means the hens are actually in the meadow, while "Free Range" is only having access to an outside yard (which rapidly turns into a dirt lot). At Nature's Acres their "hen house" on wheels is moved daily to a fresh spot in the pasture ensuring fresh sanitary greens every morning. By rotating the hens around, it gives the grass a chance to grow back and thus provides a continuous, lush pasture for the hens.
The pasture at Nature's Acres contains a diversity of grass species and clovers offering their livestock a broad "salad bar" to choose from. On their family farm, they feel it is important to work closely with and mimic nature, going beyon the organic standards of production. |
